Chrome on cyber security risks, Google warns

Google has discovered seven new security risks in the Google Chrome browser. The company advises users to update the Chrome browser as soon as possible.

According to tech site TechRadar, those security vulnerabilities have been found in the web version of Chrome, regardless of the platform. This means that all widely used operating systems such as Windows, MacOS and Linux are at risk of cyber security. Google said in a blog post about the new cyber risks, but did not elaborate on how cybercriminals could exploit those vulnerabilities in the Chrome browser.

Google has announced that it will restrict access to its links on web pages, with most users reporting security vulnerabilities until they update the Chrome browser.

In a recent blog post, Google said, ‘Most users will be restricted from accessing detailed information about bugs and related links until they update. Depending on other projects, we will restrict access to any third party libraries until bugs are found.

Of the seven bugs Google has mentioned, two are related to Type Confusion in V. There are four bugs in Printing, Extension API, WebRTC and Angle. The last bug has been identified in Race In In web audio. Google is unlikely to provide further details until the bug issue is resolved.

The V7 is an open source JavaScript engine, part of the workings of Chrome and WebRTC. This technology is used to send audio and video data from one browser to another and mobile app.

To find out if a user is vulnerable to that security risk, first go to the Chrome browser's settings menu. Help from there, then under the About Google Chrome section you can see which version of Chrome is running on the computer. If the browser version is 92.0.4515.159, there is no reason to worry. Because the latest version of Chrome is running on PC. If not, Google will tell you in the About section that you need to install the update and restart the browser.
